On Friday, May 25th, we had a graduation party for Bristyn and Savanna!  Our biggest surprise was that Mike flew in Britnee and Caralynn.  Bristyn was so excited to see them, as was I.  I would say that the party was a huge success, there was over 150 people that attended.  The food was awesome, the decorations were great, and the company that we had were so much fun!  Bristyn and Savanna were so happy with the party, it made me feel really good after all the stress I had of putting it on!  I love these girls....as I keep saying, my life is totally going to change in August when the go away to college.

Celebration

We have been doing alot of celebrating around here for the last couple of weeks!  To begin with, Bristyn got accepted into Western State University of Colorado (formerly Western State College)!  She is so excited about it, but she is also having a little anxiety about "growing up".  A couple of weekends ago, Bristyn and I took a rode trip to Gunnison to view the campus and town, it is a very small town, and the campus is wonderful.  It is in the mountains, and 20 minutes away from snowboarding, I know that she will love it there.  It is only a 4 hour car ride home, so she can come home whenever she wants to.  To celebrate, I made these yummy blackberry vanilla cobblers.  My sister, Liz, got me these adorable ramikins from LeCreuset, they are so cute!  We are so excited for Bristyn and the choice she made to further her education, but how will I survive without her being around here???

This past Friday, May 13th, Bristyn had her senior Prom, and I have to tell you, I was so sad/happy. Its hard having your little girl grow up. Everyone knows Bristyn as a tomboy, but she was so beautiful on Friday! Her best friend, Savanna, made an appointment for her to get her hair done and everything! Bristyn NEVER wants her hair done! I think it was hard for me also because Mike wasn't here to see her off to prom...he was in Washington visiting our daughter and granddaughter. I have a hard time thinking that in just a couple of months, Bristyn will be off to college, growing up. I just need to savor these last few months with my little Bris!

Our favorite restaurant in Puerto Vallarta, it is called Pipis and they have the BEST fresh mexican food that we have ever tasted...they also have a mariachi band that plays, its just a great atmosphere in that restuarant.

This is in Puerto Vallarta, the jungle in the background is where the movie Predator was filmed, it is so beautiful in this area!

Yes, that is me! Bristyn snapped this picture of me, and yes, I walked around Cabo in just a bathing suit, and I didn't even care! I was pretty proud of myself for doing that, because lets face it, my body is showing its age!

This year for spring break, we decided to take Bristyn and Brenton on a 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise. I told Bristyn that this was her senior year trip, but she said that it wasn't!! We had a great time, the ship was the Carnival Splendor....we all ate like freakin pigs! Mike got on the scale yesterday and he put on 7 pounds, I however, did not get on the scale! Our ports were 2 days in Cabo San Lucas and one day in Puerto Vallarta, my favorite city! We did some excursions, and had alot of rest and relaxation.

Happy love week...I didn't do alot of Valentines decorating in our home this year. These are the only images I have around my house that has anything to do with Valentines Day. The top picture is a strawberry that I just picked up at the store for Mike, it was delicious! I hope everyone has a wonderful week, and feel love like I feel from my Mike daily!

What we have been up to....

I have been loving all of the color that has been in all the magazines lately! My sister has been getting me all of the kiwi green LeCreuset items that I have been wanting, the color makes me smile! I can't get enough of LeCreuset!

Guess who came to town to celebrate her 2nd birthday with us!!! Caralynn and Britnee!! Her birthday was January 8th, I can't believe that she has been in our lives for 2 years, we absolutely love her and cherish the times that she spends with us! She is so stinkin cute, we can't get enough of her!

This is what we do every weekend....go to wrestling tournaments to watch Brenton! He is doing pretty dang good this season, he started the season on the jv team, but now he is wrestling varsity. He is the only freshman varsity wrestler, he is wrestling at 106 pounds ( and he is 5'9")...he is loving his first high school season, the practices kill him but he is learning so much!

Time for changes

I know I am very late, but happy new year!!! I love the new year because it gives me time to reflect on my life and make changes. This year, I have decided not to make any resolutions on weight, because its not even worth it, and I don't want the dissapointment!! Instead, I want to be selfish and increase my knowledge in computers and cameras!! I am very computer illiterate and I always say I want to learn more, but I never do, but this year, I am going to!! I have an awesome camara Mike got me last year, and I love it, but don't know how to use it, so I am going to take a class on photography!!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year!! I sure did miss Britnee, Chris and Caralynn though!! Britnee and Caralynn will be here this Thursday and I can hardly wait to see them!! I really didn't want/need anything for Christmas this year....but I have been wanting a light fixture in our living room since we moved into the condo. Mike hung this one up a couple of weeks before Christmas and I love it!! It is so bright in the living room now! The fixture is perfect in this room. It took Mike all day long to hang this fixture up, but it looks great!

I am turning into my husband!!

Remember how I said that I wanted to add more yellow to my living room? Well, I couldn't believe my luck the other day! I was walking by a neighbors garbage and here was this beauty of a table calling my name! It is perfect! It is in great shape, I asked her if she was actually throwing it away and she said she was, so I asked her if I can have it, she even had her son bring it over to my house! I am a garbage picker just like my husband!! I want to sand the top of it so I can stain it darker, but that will probably happen this next week! I love my new addition to the living room!

The witch is in.....so is a mouse!

I am having one of those days....you know, the kind where you are sitting at your computer in the basement, and you see something out of the corner of your eye, then you turn your head and see a freakin mouse!!! I have been married for just about 25 years, and I have never, ever seen a mouse in my house!! MAKES ME WANT TO MOVE SO BAD NOW!!! I know I am over reacting, but they are rodents to me! Nothing cute about them. I haven't seen any droppings or anything that would tell me that I have mice. I sent Bristyn to the store (in her pajamas) to get some traps, now I have beautiful D-Con traps in all of my corners down here. Bristyn let me know that it is my fault that we have this little critter in the house because we won't let her get a cat!!!

Feeling the LOVE!!

We started to paint and freshen up our master bath way back in July.....we finally finished it, and it is September now! I painted the bathroom walls a really pretty blue/green color, but you can't tell in these pictures, but I love the color. I looked everywhere for a shelf to hang over the toilet and I finally found one after weeks of looking, it is perfect! I ungrounded myself from ebay and purchased this Big Ben clock, I LOVE the color and patina, I have never seen it in that blue/green color. I probably spent way too much on it, but oh well.....

For my birthday, my sister ordered this adorable pillow from Ballard Designs for me, love it!! It goes wonderful with all of the other pillows I have all over the couch!

I love this thank you gift from my brother, Mike!!! I was surprised one day when this was delivered to our home and I opened it! Best gift idea!! I love the fact that he had our name put on it and it works perfect for when we have barbeques to put all of the drinks in it! Thank you Mike!

One day a couple of weeks ago, we were ding-dong ditched with this delicious plate of chocolate chip cookies.....we have this girl in our ward at church who makes the BEST cookies EVER!! Her name is Arden Bradley, but we love to call her Garden! She should seriously consider opening her own baking business, they are that delish!!

And then this cake.....I absolutely adore these girls, Alicia Thayers and Savanna Wallace. They are my Bristyns really good friends. They surprised me with this cake that they made themselves! I have to say, I was impressed!! They are great girls! I know they read this little blog of mine, and I just wanted them to know that they are loved by me!!
